FAQ's

How do I care for my soy candle?

  • Soy candles have a memory. When lighting your candle for the first time, allow the candle to burn until the melt pool reaches the edge of the glass. This can take 3-4 hours. This will help prevent tunneling and extend the life of your candle.
  • DO NOT burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Allow the candle wax to solidify before relighting again. This will extend the life of your candle.
  • Before each burn, make sure to trim the wick to 1/4 inch. Do not leave the wick trimmings in the wax.
  • When your candle has less than 1/2 inch of wax, the candle is finished. DO NOT continue to burn. Failure to do so may cause vessel to crack or shatter.
  • Lit candles are HOT, never touch a candle jar while it is lit and allow sufficient time for a candle to cool before handling.
  • Keep your lit candle in sight while burning. Never place on a flammable surface. Keep open flame away from children and pets.

Why should I choose soy wax?

  • Soy wax is all natural and made from 100% soybeans. It is environmentally friendly and is a renewable resource, unlike paraffin wax which is derived from petroleum.
  • Soy wax burns cleaner than paraffin wax. It does not emit chemicals or carcinogens (such as benzene) like some paraffin based waxes. There will also be minimal soot released from a soy wax candle.
  • Our soy is 100% American grown supporting the American soybean farmer.
  • Soy candles last longer! Due to the lower melting point, they burn up to 50% longer than paraffin based candles.
  • Soy candles produce a stronger scent throw due to the low melting point of the wax.

Can Turn2Candles take bottles for custom orders?

We absolutely can! We love taking in bottles from customers and returning them as beautifully scented candles. Many customers have bottles from special occasions that they would like to repurpose. Others put together gift packages for friends with bottles specific to their tastes. We can also blend fragrances in custom orders to your specifications.

What are soy wax melts?

  • Wax melts are a wickless option for those don't want an open flame.
  • Wax melts require a warmer (sold elsewhere) that heats the wax to release the scent.
  • Soy wax melts have all the advantages of a soy wax candle just without the flame!
  • Our premium wax melts are long lasting. We use a wax specifically designed for melts which hold a higher fragrance load than candles. One cube can last from 8 hours to 2 days.
  • You can also mix and match your wax melts to customize the exact scent you want!

Can I burn multiple candles?

Yes, absolutely! You can mix and match or keep the vibe separate in every room.

My candle has unused wax because of the curved bottom of the wine bottle. How do I use all my wax?

The curved bottom of a wine bottle is called a punt. Some bottles have taller punts than others. This will, unavoidably, leave some unused wax behind once your candle wick has burned out. You can scoop the wax out from the bottom and put it in a wax melter. You can also melt out the rest of the wax in a double boiler and prolong the life of your bottle by turning it into a vase, succulent planter, or whatever you like!
