We believe transparency matters—especially when it comes to scented products used in your home. This page explains how we select fragrance oils, what “clean fragrance” means to us, and how you can learn more about the ingredients used in our products.
How we select fragrance oils
Our fragrance oils are chosen based on performance, safety documentation, and ingredient transparency. We work with established fragrance manufacturers that provide detailed regulatory and safety information for each fragrance oil they produce.
- We review manufacturer documentation such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Many of our fragrances are formulated without commonly questioned ingredients, such as phthalates.
- We follow industry usage guidelines when formulating candles, wax melts, and other scented products.
What does “clean fragrance” mean?
There is no single, universal definition of “clean” when it comes to fragrance. Different brands and customers use the term in different ways.
For us, “clean fragrance” means prioritizing ingredient transparency, using documented fragrance oils, avoiding certain ingredients when possible, and following current safety and compliance guidance provided by manufacturers and industry organizations.
Are your candles non-toxic?
No candle can honestly be described as “non-toxic.” Any product that is burned produces combustion byproducts. What matters most is ingredient quality, proper formulation, and safe use.
Can I see ingredient information?
Yes. Ingredient and regulatory information is typically available through manufacturer documentation such as a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) or usage guidance documents. If you have questions about a specific fragrance, contact us and we’ll help point you in the right direction.
Why fragrance information can change
Fragrance ingredients are continuously reviewed as scientific research evolves. Manufacturers may update formulations to improve performance, comply with new guidance, or replace restricted components. Because of this, fragrance documentation can change over time.
Using scented products responsibly
- Always burn candles within sight.
- Trim wicks to about 1/4" before each burn.
- Burn in a well-ventilated area.
- Discontinue use if irritation or sensitivity occurs.
